A descendent of Thomas Brough born Heanor circa 1808 i.e. Herbert Brough 1835 - 1904 appears in the family bible of George Brough born Ripley 1802 and his wife Mary Smith with no apparent family connection. As Thomas Brough (1808) was illegitimate, we can hypothesis that his mother was related to George Brough, perhaps a sibling i.e. both the children of Christopher Brough and Hannah Brown. Christopher had several daughters, all but one of whom were married before 1808 (the youngest Clementina died in infancy). His daughter Phoebe however married a James Lancashire in 1814 at the age of 25, so she could have been Thomas (1808)'s mother. Thomas named his first daughter Phoebe which could lend some support to the hypothesis. | Brough, Phoebe (I10200)
